Netflix holiday spirit and Gift subscriptions: Just say no
So, it's the holidays and my brothers and sisters buy our Aunt a subscription to Netflix as a present. We've done this for the last 4 years, so it should be a snap to renew, right? WRONG! I go to the website and click on buy Netflix. Guess what you get one...

That does sound pretty WEAK. But if after going through all that and listening to Irene's bs you still actually bought it...
well, that's pretty weak too. Please tell me you didn't purchase it after all because then all my sympathy for you would have to go out the window.

Netflix's Christmas Present Lie
Netflix is offering an extra movie at Christmas to show their appreciation. They say it is in addition to your regular two movies, but they will not send the extra movie if you have any movies out on rental. See below: On Thursday, 12/15/11, I received email from Netflix about opportunity to receive a bonus DVD rental for the holiday season. I decided to take advantage of the offer but they don't send it right away and they won't send the regular DVD until the bonus one is returned and it hasn't even been sent yet! I didn't really get a bonus DVD because they tie up your account by not sending the bonus DVD right away. I could have gotten the regular DVD quicker by just returning the one that I had at home so basically they are giving me less movies for the same time period than I could have normally gotten! I received an email from Netflix stating that I would get a bonus DVD this year--I normally get two at a time--and they claimed that I would get three at once, and they would need to get two back from me before I'm back on the two-at-a-time plan. Yeah? Hardly. I clicked "yes, I'd like this," and sure enough, they sent my next disk to me yesterday. Of course, I only had one disk at home, since my other was already in the mail back to them. Today, they got it, and nope, I get no more disks until I mail back my other one. I called to complain, and they say that their engineers are aware of the problem. Next day my supposed extra DVD still has not shipped. Indian Givers!

I cancelled my subcription for awhile due to moving and not having my dvd players hooked up yet. I had a tape and couldn't find the sleeve to send it back. They refused to send me a nother sleeve, because my account is closed. They want me to find an envelope and mail it back. I don't want to pay the postage nor do I want to pay 7.99 for a month just to have a sleeve mailed to me. I am trying to find an envelope that will fit it. I will definitely have it signed for.

Ping Ponged with No Resolution
I called to cancel Netflix service b/c the streaming never worked. The Netflix rep told me bad information and then he said he cancelled the service, but he didn't. When I called Am Ex they could only give me credit for the months I was charged (but shouldn't have been) and the NetFlix supervisors and reps kept ping ponging my call/complaint around internally and then to Am Ex (who of course couldn't help me past what they had done originally) without statisfactory resolution. I spent several hours compiliing credit charge data when the NetFlix company was never going to help me (even though they instructed me to do *** work). Just a waste of my valuable time and energy. Will never use NetFlix again.

NETFLIX STEALS FROM CUSTOMERS
Netflix's system creates a 2nd account for you when/if you change your email address. For months, I was being charged 2x a month by netflix. I had 2 separate email logins, but they had the same information, until a netflix employee asked me to refresh one of my screens, at which point the logins had differing information. They stated that it is a common mistake for customers to "accidentally" create another account when trying to update their email address. Now, why would they not fix an issue that would charge their customers unneccesarily????? Unless that is there plan - to get our money. I will never go back to Netfix again and will warn everyone I can about them

Netflix Owes me an Apology
With the intention of helping Netflix with their mass-production capabilities, since I was so content with the service that they were providing, I cancelled my Netflix account four days early with hopes that it would help them to prepare to either put my interests on hold or to remember me later as they always do. They immediately and completely cut me off from access to my online membership. I was on the phone with their CS personelle for about four hours and, as all other poor CSR departments do, they talked and keept talking, but refused to acknowledge the fact that I was not satisfied with a refund of $1.06 for the terminated four days of service. I was a member for four months and felt that due to my patronage, I should be allowed to finish the four days of movie-streaming that I paid for. Their CSRs, over the four hours that they, not me, had on the clock, were not able to do anything for me but to waste my time and continue to agree with my right to have kicked myself out of their Netflix service. As I told them personally, more than once, I had hoped that Netflix would have been a ray-of-hope for the various communities around the U.S.A. They seemed proud to tell me that there was nothing they could do to help. I just wanted such atrocities to be on record. Zach

Netflix terminated my account!!
Check out what just happened to me.! After being a long time (since 2004) customer of Netflix, they apparently got upset with me and canned me as a customer! What gives? I mailed them back the 6 discs I had about a week ago. Netflix never received them, so I reported...

Time to cut the tie with Netflix
Despite all the mea culpas, Netflix refused to retreat on their incredibly *** price hike, and I've had it with trying to find the movies I want to watch on their streaming service--they ain't there. I tried contacting Netflix via their various departments, and everyone had the same story, with the added gall of hoping I'd be patient and give the streaming service a try. Since Netflix refuses to backtrack, it is my sincerest hope that it fails, for no other reason than to serve as a warning to other executives who think a commanding market position gives them carte blanc to screw their customers. And since my public library is a now better (and free) movie source, it's good riddance, Netflix.

Netflex - Go pound sand
This lasest BS with advertising *** before the movie that you can not fast forward to the main menu is TOTAL BS!! I don't PAY to watch advertising. The latest Harry Potter DVD takes an eternity to get past the *** advertising at the beginning of the disk. I finally gave up and pulled the movie without watching. I have been with these guys since the start, but with the pricing BS two months ago and NOW this advertising ***, I am gone. Totally, completely and utterly unacceptable! The entire upper management team and board members should be canned now!!

Netflix has finally irritated me enough to consider leaving
To be frank I am one of the few that has pillaged Netflix to the point where i really was fine with it's short comings. Things have changed. I was fine with no CC, glitchy bandwidth adjustment, strange suggestions for viewing, re-detecting my xbox a few times, and the rate change. But now the new menu interface is the last straw. The needy little app always has to be doing something. If it's not trying to show me a scene from the movie/show it's playing an episode while i'm trying to find the one i actually want to watch. No app settings means that while my xbox itself makes no little tweeting or beeping noises Netflix again chooses to irritate me with menu sounds. The stacks of cover art behind my current menu just feels like clutter and the sliver of info at the bottom of the screen tells you even less about what you are considering wasting time to watch. Oh and there is a problem with our licensing in this country. Was happy to see more British shows on there but having notices an obvious music change during an episode of the U.K. version of Skins. Come on Netflix give us what they made or don't offer it. They want to sell copies to the U.S. markets so let them give us the real product. Gonna give this a week to settle in and maybe i'll find the controls hidden some where but this tastes of "here you go son have a ball to entertain yourself , now shut up and take it."

Netflix - Pan N' Scan Wherehouse
We've been Netflix subscribers since the very beginning. Scratched disks, and poor results from customer service are no longer the norm. However what seems to becoming a disturbing trend is modified aspect ratios to full screen vs the orignial format. Many older movies are now Pan N' Scan and not widescreen. It would be fine if there was an option to watch a butchered movie. I complain, and they send out the next movie in my cue ahead of time. Nice, but does not solve the growing problem. Kinda like HBO/Showtime vs HD versions where the non HD is in Fullscreen, and HD is in widescreen.

*** Customer Service and doubled prices
Netflixs customer service sucks miserably. I have been a customer of the service since 2001. The price for my service doubled with the new dual plan. I called and complained that I should be grandfathered in as a long time customer who was brought in under different guidelines and was told "sorry we don't see it that way" and was more than willing to cancel my service. I realize I'm only a $16.73 customer but seriously how can you communicate with your customers like that. I was going to cancel my service, now I think I'll just give my log in to anyone I know so they can all take advantage of the service for free! STICK THAT IN YOUR NETWORK PIPE and smoke it NETFLIX.

Netflix Popups or Pop Under Ads
2011-12-01 So far we are unable to stop or reduce unsolicited Netflix Pop Unders or Pop Ups Ads while browsing on the Internet. We have tried numerous Pop Up Blockers but they do not work on the Netflix type of unsolicited Ads. Google Netflix popup complaints for additional information. Hundreds of people have complained, but Netflix does not seem to care it is *** off their customers or potential customers. Though formerly satisfied Netflix customers, now we are Netflix boycotters one year for every unsolicited Netflix Ad! Maybe when thousands or million complain, Netflix will respond ie the famous Netflix pricing debacle!

I accepted the bonus DVD offer and attempted to time the shipment so I would get the bonus CD in time for a long weekend. I set up my *** with a couple preferred movies at the top, but I ended up getting sent a movie that was a ways down my *** and not a new release.
I'm **pretty sure** there were things farther up my list which were available (weren't designated 'wait' or 'long wait'.
Also- has anyone noticed that since the 'push' to go to streaming, ALL the new releases on DVD seem to automatically have 'long wait' as soon as they are available.
EVERY movie worth seeing that's been released the past 2 weeks is designated 'WAIT'. They KNOW how many subscribers they have, so shouldn't they just order MORE COPIES of new releases?
I agree with the article. This might seem like a nice gesture with no strings, but Netflix has inadvertently erased the benefit with the small type.
It states that "You will then need to return 2 DVDs to receive the next DVD in your ***." If you have a DVD on the way back when you redeem the coupon, they will ship the bonus DVD, they then receive your return, and you will not receive another DVD in your *** until the bonus is returned.
In essence, it just becomes the next rental and there is no benefit.
@nikalseyn: Timing is everything. Glad you got something from the coupon.
I recieved the email and clicked on the link. The next day I saw my bonus DVD was "processing".
The day after that it was "processing" and the day after that too. Then I got an email saying the disc would be unavailable and it would be remove from my at home area. Nothing in my *** replaced it.
So bottom line -> No bonus DVD was sent. Typical Netflix.
I received the email from Netflix, clicked on the link and they sent me the next dvd on my *** the next day. I had two already coming and received all three the next day. No problem whatsoever.
