Netflix DVD shipping has slowed to two days. It used to take just one day for them to both receive an old DVD back and to ship a new DVD.

Now it take two days in both directions. That is simply unacceptable. After 10 years as a customer and enduring other service reductions, such as elimination of Saturday service, this is the final nail in the coffin. I'm going to Redbox for DVDs.

For streaming, I'm going to Amazon Prime since they also offer free shipping on products if you buy Prime. The only reason I was doing streaming on Netflix was because I also was getting DVDs from them. Now that is gone, there is no reason to stay. Netflix seems to think a lot of their streaming service, but I do not understand why.

Out of the 480 titles that I had in my DVD ***, only a couple dozen were available on streaming. Netflix just does not seem to understand that 99% of their inventory is only available on DVD ...

so why would customers just want to stream? There is simply not enough streaming inventory available.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Netflix Pros: What netflix used to be.

Netflix Cons: Netflix self-destructing.

Location: Round Rock, Texas

went from 3 to 2 movies because they slowed down big time. Toying with getting rid of Netflix completely.

No way I am going to get *** streaming, I've tried it below.

Is this the beginning of the end for Netflix ? Going to Redbox more on weekends when I actually watch movies

I have seen the service fall off drastically in the past 4 months. The DVDs are taking 3 or 4 days to get to me and I am only getting 4 or 5 films a month now.

I spent 40 minutes on the phone with a rep and then so called manager who claimed they are aware of and working on the problem but it has been going on for months. I send my DVD back and it is received the next day but it takes them 3 or 4 days to get me a new film. I also use a ROKU player with Netflix streaming and when I told them my service was out completely for 2 nights due to problems on their end which they acknowledged they refused any compensation. They refused to give me any compensation or send any additional DVDs and told me that they had no obligation to send me a film in any more than 5 days.

I have been a subscriber for 8 years and have brought many on board to their service.

I will not be doing this any more. Please spread the word and I will be looking for a new service.

Same *** in Reno NV. I.

do the 3 Blu-ray discs at a time and pay 30 a month for the past 5 years. The USPS is run by the government and think they are milking the dog here.

I expect Netflix should switch to overnight deliver or store HD in a cloud for download. 99% of what's streaming is horse ***.

The same for me I was told USPS was the problem Bullxhit! I will be switching to a different rental after 8 years NETFLIX SUCKS

I spoke to Netflix about it yesterday and was told it was due to USPS and people in my area were especially impacted because our discs came from Netflix' Santa Ana, CA location. They said they are working on it and expect to get something resolved with USPS because they are big customers.

It sounded reasonable to me at the time and I figured I'd just wait and hope for the best.

But then it occurred to me that I am paying Netflix the same amount for substantially fewer discs.

Whether or not the situation is entirely caused by USPS doesn't change the fact that Netflix is doing less for the same rate so they are making more profit. I think that until the situation is resolved, Netflix should discount their rates and the discount should be applied retroactively to when the change first started.

I spoke to the local post master and they advised that 1st class mail now takes at least 2 days. So the delay is probably the postal service.

But, Netflix continues to claim 1 day delivery and you are correct, 1/3 the product delivered to me for the same price.

Shameful deceptive business practice. I'm dumping Netflix.

I spoke with a Netflix rep today and it has to do with the USPS changing their first class definition from 1-2 days to 2-3 days. This is why everybody across the country is noticing a slow down.

Netflix is in negotiations with them. So don't blame Netflix completely, it's truly out of their hands but they're trying to fix the issue.

Same slowdown for me, it takes about a week to get another DVD once I mail mine back

And the same delivery slowdown in Oregon. Shipping a DVD used to take one day to be received and one more day to ship back to me.

Now I ship something out on a Monday, it may be received by Wednesday (or Thursday) and I don't receive another disc until Friday at best -- or maybe next Monday. I'm a long-time user of Netflix and I agree with everyone else here: the service no longer makes much sense.

I receive Redbox texts daily with free rentals. The kiosk at the grocery story is starting to look much better as a replacement.

Same delivery slowdown deal in Texas. The number of disks I can view in a week has cratered.

The service no longer makes much sense.

Looking into Redbox rental kiosk at the grocery story as a replacement.

I'm having problems too. For the 2 years I've had Netflix, I was consistently getting the next disc 1 day after Netflix mailed it, then starting on Jan.

1 it slowed to 2 days, and now this week it has slowed even more. I am now receiving discs 3 days after they are mailed to me (and I thought 2 days was bad).

I mailed a disc on Friday, Netflix received it on Monday (because they don't accept discs on Saturday anymore), they mailed my next disc on Tuesday, and I received it Friday. So I'm looking at a full week turnaround time.

This 3 day shipping time happened with 2 discs this week on different days (I have the 2 at a time plan). Good grief. :-/

I did just sign up for another DVD by mail service called Vidiux.com, but their selection is very limited (maybe because they are new?). Still I think it will be nice to have something else to supplement Netflix with the severe problems they are having getting DVD's to me in a timely manner.

Vidiux charges $3.49 per disc and you keep it for 1 week. The first disc is only $0.99.

There are no contracts or plans.

I just wish Netflix would provide good customer service like they used to! It was bad enough losing Saturdays, but now with the 3 day shipping time too, it hardly seems worth it.

How do you like Vidiux? I am looking for a new place to rent DVDs because the Netflix shipping has slowed down so much for me also.

My last movies were shipped Friday and I did not get them until Tuesday. I use them to exercise to so it is really goofing me up even though I get 4 at a time I still end up some days without any at home.
